Details: The Music School of Delaware will host its Showcase spectacular on June 8th presenting over 200 student and adult musicians in eight choral and orchestral ensembles “center stage” at The Grand Opera House. This collaborative concert will feature Delaware’s finest student and amateur musicians ranging in age from 6 to 80 years.

This year’s Showcase program will feature compelling and challenging repertoire, from classical favorites to contemporary works. The first half of the concert will highlight the Music School’s distinguished choral ensembles performing works by well-known composers including Haydn, Andrew Lloyd Webber, John Rutter, Eleanor Daley, Rollo Dilworth and the Music School’s own vocal/choral department head Michael Larkin, among others.

Following the intermission, the Music School’s accomplished orchestral ensembles will perform works by Berlioz, Bach, Tchaikovsky, Whitney and Mussorgsky. The evening will close with a combined performance by all orchestral and choral ensembles of John Rutter’s “For the Beauty of the Earth” and Sy Miller & Jill Jackson’s “Let There Be Peace on Earth” arranged by Michael Larkin.
