(WILMINGTON, DEL.) July 20, 2010– The Music School of Delaware, the state’s only nationally accredited community music school, increased student enrollment in all programs during the 2009-2010 academic year by 10% over the previous year. The increase is a result of the Music School’s expanded service areas as part of its statewide initiative, breadth of program offerings for all ages and strong regional reputation for excellence in music education.

“People are more aware than ever of the Music School’s long standing reputation for excellence,” comments Kate M. Ransom, President & CEO. “The Music School is bringing more music to more people in more places than ever before.”

Also during the 2009-2010 academic year, the Music School raised over $160,000 for its Annual Fund, a 70% increase over the previous year. The increase in annual giving is attributed to the implementation of communications and fundraising innovations including online donation, a matching gift incentive challenge supported by a number of leadership donors and significantly greater board leadership.

"Despite the current economic conditions, the Music School achieved its most successful year in annual giving thanks to the generosity of our donors that support the Music School’s mission to provide excellence in music education to people of all ages and all levels of ability" adds Steve Wasserleben, Director of Development.

The Music School of Delaware is now enrolling students of all ages and all levels at statewide locations in Wilmington, Milford, Pike Creek, Middletown, Dover, Felton, Angola/Long Neck and Seaford.
