Suzuki Academy Students Performed at New York City’s Lincoln Center

Wilmington, Del. – The Music School of Delaware’s Suzuki Academy students recently performed in America’s Youth in Concert held at New York City’s Lincoln Center on December 9, 2009. This holiday season invitational concert highlighted the achievements of students from select music schools in the Northeast.
“This was unique opportunity for our Suzuki students to perform in one of the nation’s premier concert venues alongside students from leading music schools in the Northeast,” says President & CEO Kate M. Ransom. “This invitation recognizes the quality of our Suzuki program and its growing regional distinction.”
Music School Suzuki Academy student participants were as follows listed by state and city:

The Music School of Delaware’s Suzuki Academy, under the direction of department head Shelley Beard Schleigh, provides Suzuki instruction to nearly 150 violin, viola, cello and flute students. Since 2005, the Suzuki Academy has grown to be the only program of its kind and size in the Delaware Valley.
